A random spawn, so search systematically
The Zen Towel in Waterpark Simulator is a quest item for Yogi's wellness line: the task reads "Find and bring back Zen Towel 0/1," and Yogi, who sits on the sidewalk next to Caymart, explains that someone took his sacred towel. The towel is a white towel with a small candle or incense holder, and the key fact every report agrees on is that it spawns at a random spot in your park for each save. There is no fixed coordinate anyone can give you, so any guide promising one location is describing their own save, not a rule.
What the community does agree on is a search method that finds it quickly, plus a list of reported spawn spots that keep recurring across saves. This page collects both, and notes the patches that addressed how hard the towel is to see. Console and PC have received different fix timelines, so platform matters here.
The search route that works
Start by taking the free camera. The flight camera added in the August 2026 update lets you look over the whole park from above, which turns this from a ground-level crawl into a sweep. Fly the perimeter of your park first, along the outer edge where few players bother to look, then work inward in strips so no area is skipped.
Check water surfaces deliberately. Multiple reports found the towel floating in pools, sometimes hidden under decorative objects, sometimes stuck in a spot that is hard to reach from the deck. Open showers and changing rooms next: one player found the towel half-embedded inside a shower stall. Finish with benches and loungers, checking underneath them, and include paths and the center-bottom area of the park that reports repeatedly name.
If the towel is floating in a pool you cannot reach, players report that moving or deleting that pool frees it, which connects to the removal rules on the sell-items mechanics covered in the park group. Pick it up and return it to Yogi to advance the step; in multiplayer, anyone in the lobby can grab it.
Spots the community keeps reporting
Across saves, the same categories of spots recur: behind the bathrooms, under a bench near the zen pool, floating in the pirate pool, inside a changing stall, on park paths, under water-pool decorations, near the center-bottom of the park, under a rock, and in the middle of a purchased-but-unbuilt plot. None of these is a spawn table; they are player reports that show the towel favors overlooked edges and water features.
Use the list as a first pass, not a guarantee. If a full sweep finds nothing, expand to rooftop-adjacent areas and any corner your building has enclosed, because the towel can end up inside spaces players rarely enter. The spawn weights, whether water and hygiene zones are genuinely more likely, are unreported and stay Pending verification.
What the patches changed
This task has been difficult since before 1.0: a Steam thread from November 2025 already collects the same floating-pool and shower-stall reports. CayPlay has since shipped two targeted changes. A Steam patch on August 28, 2026 improved the towel's visibility during the quest, and the PlayStation 1.000.010 update of September 10, 2026 added "possible solutions" for players who cannot find the towel. The Xbox build was not named in that fix note, so console parity is Pending verification until an equivalent note appears.
Practical takeaway: if your last information about this task predates those patches, the current game should be noticeably kinder than the early reports suggest. Update your expectations before blaming your search route, and keep the game updated on whichever platform you play.
Searching without wasting a session
The search costs time you would rather spend operating the park, so structure it. Do the sweep before opening or after closing, because pausing mid-operation to fly the camera leaves queues unattended. The August 2026 free camera made the full sweep a few minutes of flying instead of a long walk, and players who searched on foot before that update describe the flight camera as the single biggest quality-of-life change for this task.
Sweep in a fixed order so you never re-check the same area twice: outer perimeter first, then pool surfaces, then hygiene rooms, then seating, then paths and open ground. Zoom the camera close enough to distinguish the towel from white pool fittings and loose towels that are part of scenery, since the white-on-white problem is the reason players miss it in plain sight. The candle detail on the item helps; look for the pair, not just white fabric.
If two players search in co-op, split the zones and call out finds, because the towel is grabbable by anyone in the lobby. And if you truly cannot find it, park your suspicion in this order: the step is not actually active yet, someone already collected it, the spawn sits inside a newly purchased plot you have not walked, or your build predates the visibility patches. A genuine no-spawn bug is the last explanation, and it needs a platform and version report.
Where this sits in Yogi's line

If you cannot find the towel at all, rule out the boring causes first: the quest step may not actually be active, another player in co-op may have already picked it up, or you may be searching a pre-expansion area while the spawn sits in newly bought land. Only after those are excluded should a genuine "not spawning" bug be reported, with platform and version.
One more caution: do not demolish pools at random hoping to force a respawn. Deletion refunds only part of the construction cost, and there is no evidence the towel relocates on its own. Move or remove only the specific pool you can see it floating in.
